Greek Data Center Association (GRDCA) Strengthens Its Board and Welcomes 8 New Members

Gianna Andronopoulou, CEO of Microsoft Greece, Cyprus & Malta, joins the GRDCA Board of Directors | The Association’s ecosystem now expands to 55 companies

Athens, May 27, 2026 – The Greek Data Center Association (GRDCA) — the organization representing data center operators, service providers, and key stakeholders across the industry — announces two significant developments: the addition of eight new member companies and the appointment of Gianna Andronopoulou, CEO of Microsoft Greece, Cyprus & Malta, to its Board of Directors.

These developments further expand the Association’s network and strengthen the collective representation of Greece’s growing data center industry. At the same time, they reflect the rapid growth of the country’s digital infrastructure market and the increasingly strategic role data centers play in the digital economy.

The eight new companies joining GRDCA are: Adtran, AHL Design & Engineering, Archirodon, DAMAC Digital, Microsoft, NICZUK, Noval Property (REIC), and Zarifopoulos S.A.

The new members represent critical sectors across the data center value chain, including design, development, construction, operations, and technical support, further reinforcing GRDCA’s footprint and influence as the leading industry association for data centers in Greece.

In parallel with Microsoft joining the Association as a member, Gianna Andronopoulou, CEO of Microsoft Greece, Cyprus & Malta, will also join the GRDCA Board of Directors. Microsoft’s active participation on the Board highlights the strategic importance of Greece’s emerging role as a regional digital hub and signals the continued commitment of global technology leaders to the development of the country’s digital infrastructure ecosystem.

GRDCA’s mission is to support the growth and institutional representation of the data center industry while positioning Greece as a hub for investment and technological expertise. The Association’s priorities include sustainability and energy efficiency, social responsibility, research, and strengthening the connection between the industry, education, and future talent development.

Alexandros Bechrakis, President of GRDCA and Managing Director of Digital Realty in Greece, stated: “The addition of eight new members confirms the strong momentum of the data center ecosystem in Greece and the growing need for a unified and influential industry body. At the same time, welcoming Gianna Andronopoulou to our Board brings a truly global perspective that is highly relevant to our market. GRDCA continues to grow stronger through the participation of companies with deep expertise, extensive experience, and a strategic role in the development of modern digital infrastructure, actively contributing to the creation of a sustainable and competitive framework for the future.”

Gianna Andronopoulou, CEO of Microsoft Greece, Cyprus & Malta, commented: “Greece is rapidly evolving into a major digital hub for the wider region — and data centers play a pivotal role in this transformation. At Microsoft, we have believed in this potential for decades. With nearly 35 years of continuous presence in the country and strategic investment initiatives such as the development of local data centers, we are working alongside a strong ecosystem of partners to accelerate innovation across businesses, organizations, and the Greek public sector. At the same time, we continue to invest systematically in the growth of the digital economy, the creation of high-quality jobs, and the development of the skills that will shape the workforce of the future. Our participation on the GRDCA Board reflects our commitment to actively contributing to the development of a modern, sustainable, and competitive digital infrastructure ecosystem for Greece.”
